Better late than never, I say!

I opened my extended bio file and found these notes—snapshots of a time that traces how two high school friends came to record the music now before you. After more than 30 years of waiting, it finally reaches its official release.

Thank you for visiting our site and for welcoming this music into your artistic and spiritual palettes. With the aid and skill of maestro Corin Nelsen, these songs have at last been brought to life. We are deeply grateful for your support of our team’s efforts.

1985–1990

“In ’85, the fire caught again. Brad Humphrey—an old childhood friend—invited me to sing on his Christian album Robot Luggage. He had just opened Trinity Recording Studios on North Avenue. That space brought me back to the mic.

Brad was meticulous, generous, and endlessly creative. He played most of the instruments, surrounded by high school musician friends. I sang—my voice now deeper, more grounded.

Brad showed me the skeleton of a song—the bridge, the arc. From him, I learned a system, a map of sound. Together, we recorded The Truer You Live, my first Native American–inspired song. It carried a mystical undercurrent, shaped by Brad’s keyboard textures.

By 1992, he moved the studio north of town. That’s when Larry Holloway—known as “RAT”—introduced me to alternative tunings. I hit the library hard. That discovery opened the door to Will Ackerman and Michael Hedges. I never played quite like them, but I found my own secret path through those strange and beautiful tunings.”

1990–1995

“These were canyon years—red rock, deep skies, silent trails in the San Juan Mountains. I read everything: philosophy, religion, archaeology, old nature books, and Colorado’s buried histories.

Songs came like echoes from the stone. Brad kept recording them, refining them. That became The Truer You Live—an album born of dreams, firelight, and old visions. The title came from a saying by John Otto, the mad, holy founder of the Colorado National Monument. I wove into it a vision from Black Elk.

For the first time, I felt my writing was whole. Brad’s production made it bloom.”

No longer were the lyrics confused love songs from a kid trying to write “confused love songs.”

At last, the work had reached a level of metaphysical maturity, and I was deeply pleased with what Brad and I were creating together.

Welcome to this opportunity to travel back in time with Brad and me as you listen to these songs, created by two friends that had a vision for the music they had recorded, many seasons ago now.

Peace and blessings 🙏

Boostingly yours,

Pablo (Paul Edward Jensen)
